ESoCE-Net, as part of its catalyst role in the domain of People Driven Open Innovation, is launching the “People Olympics for Energy Smart Neighborhoods” proposal under H2020-EE-2015MarketUptakeSub call.
The proposal will leverage results from the Odysseus Project and its final prototype for the launch of "Energy Smart Neighborhoods" initiative within Horizon 2020 Societal Challenge pillar
Odysseus Project is developing a decision support system (Open Dynamic System or ODYS) to support the management of energy supply, demand and storage in urban areas using an open integration platform. We would like to gather the views from experts in urban and building energy efficiency, ICT software development, the utility service sector, city and facilities management, urban design and planning.
The People Olympics game is based on competing cities. Each neighborhood tracks their energy smart living activity in terms of reduction of energy consumption and increase of local energy production. A system collects all data and updates the real time cumulative energy smart living activities at city level, and compares it with the value of the other competing cities.
